Asian Pacific Development Center will hold its annual Asian new year banquet at Arvada Center for Arts and Humanity at 5pm on 02/08/2014. Denver Chinese Source plans to coordinate 10 members to sponsor a table this event. The cost per person will be $150, compared to the regular $70 ($80 will be tax deductible). APDC has done a lot to the Asian community. Beside enjoying the show, the additional contribution will help APDC to offer more services to its constituents. Young Love is our valentine to the community on February 14. DU violin professor Linda Wang performs Chen and He’s The Butterfly Lovers (梁祝), a violin concerto with an overall style adapted from traditional Chinese Opera. The one-movement concerto has three sections — Falling in Love, Refusing to Marry and Metamorphosis. Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty Suite and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suite No. 2 book-end this evening of “lovers” music.

Colorado Chinese Chamber of Commerce will hold its Lunar New Year celebration at King’s Land Seafood Restaurant at 5pm on 01/31/2014, the first day of the Chinese New Year. Besides delicious entrees, there will be many eye catching performances. Many representatives from different levels of government will also attend the event to share their appreciation for the community. It is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the Chinese culture and tradition at the start of the year of the horse. Colorado is going to have its mid-term election this coming November. Starting from this month, Denver Chinese Source will start introducing our visitors to the Chinese/Asian specific policies of the different political parties and candidates. We have extended invitations to these parties and candidates to provide us editorials to allow our community to have closer contact with them on issues that warrant our concern.

It is against the flow of the Qi for the roads to be too narrow as well as on the edge of a curvature. When the roads are too narrow it would be difficult for the inhabitants to accumulate wealth and Qi and when they are in a curvature, it is like situating at the end of a bow and would be difficult for the inhabitants and Qi to maintain balance and stability.
